Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy broadcast this new episode of Balearic Breakfast on her Mixcloud on October 13th, 2026.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Dear Friends, it is high time for you to put your thinking caps on! Next week our Beloved show will be dedicated to Black History Month! A show we all deeply love and during which we always discover new artists and also celebrate the Greats that preceeded them!

In today's episode, Colleen interviewed a Band we really love, the great Flamingo Pier (I did a written interview with the band's DJ, Luke Walker, a while ago, and you can read it here). She also met Sophie Callis, music veteran and head of the Boatpod, a floating radio station and DJ live-stream platform. Should you want to discover more about Sophie's journey, you can visit the Boatpod's website by clicking here.

Listen back to episode 26-39 of Balearic Breakfast:

This morning’s Balearic Breakfast is now up on my Mixcloud and features two guest mixes and interviews. First up is New Zealand groove band Flamingo Pier who have a new album out called ‘Woven Together’. Bandmember Luke Walker gives us the skinny behind the album and also put together a great mix which everyone on the chat group thoroughly enjoyed.

Next up is Sophie Callis - the woman behind the radio station and podcast studio The BoatPod. She emerged from West London’s broken beat scene and has an amazing story about running off with the circus. Her mix is fabulous, as well.

Thanks to all of the great DJs who have covered for me whilst I’ve been away and I’ll be back hosting Balearic Breakfast live again this coming Tuesday and it will be our annual Black History Month special. The request line goes up on Saturday and I look forward to your suggestions as always.

Thanks for listening!
