Balearic Breakfast | Episode 8 | Waving goodbye to José...

Updated: Apr 30, 2023

Worldwide FM broadcast the 8th episode of Balearic Breakfast on October 20th 2020.

A friend once asked me, "Why do you keep saying that sadness lives in you? You can choose to be happy !" I answered *There is no day without night, no light without darkness. I keep my sadness alive, so my Joy stays with me..."

This is precisely what this 8th edition of "BalearicBreakfast" is about, finding peace while greaving, smiling while crying, feeling that craziness over you while you try not to surrender to sad thoughts, and saying, "I will get through this, I will rise again". Robert Plants' "I'm in the mood" conveys that message of hope and force, and we go for another ride with the stunning "Fire in my heart". Colleen's selection from the show's start enhances the "rising side" of the Balearic Family's feelings, sharing sadness over José Padilla's passing...

You can't help but feel a slight sadness all through the show. It lingers on and is enhanced by the Trying times we were all facing, the cancelled parties and events and also by David's Birthday... But the music kept playing, and we were smiling through the rain with our Beloved Captain... I strongly believe this is one of the shows that enhanced our feelings of "Belonging"...

So come on, join us as we rise again, and while listening, read this article...

“Balearic is not a kind of music, it’s a way of life. It’s the freedom to play whatever you want, so long as you play it proficiently. People listen to a track with guitar on it and say ‘this is Balearic’ when it’s not. Balearic is just the spirit of Ibiza. DJ’s used to play here seven or eight hours a night and have the freedom to play anything they wanted, from rock to house.”
José Padilla
