Statues' New Single: Leaves In Summer

I met Bradley Lucke from Statues. The band, fronted by Bradley and Mark Crooks, just released a brand new track, "Leaves in Summer" on the Music For Dreams label.
1) Hi Bradley! Thank you for joining us! Can you present Statues? How did that musical project come about?
Statues started around 2015 with various friends, including Mark Crooks, getting together and laying down beats, keys, and guitars, which were eventually shaped into tracks. One of these was our first single, "Alaula," released on Claremont 56 in 2016.
2) Musically speaking, how would you describe Statues?
We tend to follow the path of a sound and feeling we recognize, I guess. Most of the tracks are built around keys and atmospheric sounds that end up sounding like Statues.
You could describe it as Balearic electronica!
3) Colleen recently played your latest effort, « leaves in summer » in her last Balearic breakfast episode. What is the story of that track?
The track came together late last year. Mark had sent over some lovely arpeggio keys, and the track was built around those parts. Friends Andy Bainbridge and Steve Carr did a fantastic job remixing the track so i had to find a good home for it, i contacted Kenneth Bager who runs Music For Dreams who was happy to release it.
4) Your work has been remixed by fellow musicians and DJs, including Coyote and Paul «Mudd » Murphy. It’s an impossible question to answer, but if you had to chose a remix that left you breathless over the years, which one would it be and why?
That's hard to answer as all the remixes are great! But if I had to pick one, it would be Clear Skies (The Vendetta Suite) remix! The extra production added for that remix just felt so fitting for the original track and the label, Is It Balearic.
5) Last but not least, what is coming next for Statues?
We have a new track coming out soon on the Music For Swimming Pools Vol 3 compilation, compiled by label boss Pete Herbert—our second installment for MFSP.
