The last days of summer seem like a perfect title for this episode! Back then, Colleen just came back from a well-fed summer, including a trip to Berlin (Audio-Technica was celebrating 60 years and they putt on an exhibition event in Berlin, an open day in their new Analogue Foundation venue with record sellers, stalls, food and a DJ set from Colleen and JAW Family) – where she met Russell Elevado (who engineered D'Angelo"s "Voodoo" studio album) – and, of course, her residency at the We Out Here Festival from the Love Dancing Tent!
For this very episode, Colleen posted the request line on September 03rd, writing on her socials, "We are back with the Balearic Breakfast Request Line! Please help me with 2 hours of music for this Tuesday morning's show on Worldwide FM" - over to you..."
This episode has a very calm and smooth soul. Colleen takes you on a long musical journey. The second part of the show blends seamlessly with the first; you don't even notice time passing while you listen to this great musical trip!
I remember this one very fondly, by the way, because I discovered the great "Jibaro (Enrolle)" by Elkin & Nelson and also the joyful "West Side Jet" by Young Gun Silver Fox, which I listened to on an endless repeat loop and, last but not least, the Slo Mo Edit of "Doin it Right" by Mark E. Quark!
