WorldwideFM broadcast the last edition of 'Summer Staycation' on August, 25th 2020.
The last "Summer Staycation" was aired on a somewhat cloudy and stormy day and is certainly not a show that draws less interest from the listener. The sun briefly peaked out while Colleen played the opening track (Roy Ayers' "Everybody loves the sunshine").
As we listen to the songs, we can feel a slight concern. Something is in the air, something intangible: there is tension somewhere in the music, there is a duality, and the selection made by Colleen and the absolute beauty of her mixing perfectly reflects that concern, also showcasing the importance of the requests made by the Balearic Breakfast Family!
This show perfectly demonstrates that it has a Soul of its own... Listen...
The last edition of our Summer Staycation Songs radio show is now up on the @worldwide.fm website with track list and also on my mixcloud (link in bio). Thanks to all who contributed song suggestions - they were fabulous! I will continue to host the Tuesday morning show from 9 to 11am BST but it’s time for a new theme - something musically opened ended. So far the best suggestion has been Balearic Breakfast.
