Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy broadcast the 267th episode of Balearic Breakfast on her Mixcloud on April 21st, 2026.
ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Through the pouring rain, through the thickness of the darkest of fogs, through despair, sadness and an unbearable Loneliness, tell me, in the lies this crazy world confesses, will you be able to somehow find yourself again and lend yourself a hand almost no one ever handled to you? While crying your soul out, while yelling from that excruciating pain, will you be able to get out stronger than before and see things clearly now? Do not trust them; do not wait for anyone but yourself; no one’s love will save your inner child’s loneliness if you don’t believe it can be somehow healed in your own hands. You are your only answer, and your own guardian angel. Now, son, stand up, slowly, and Walk… Walk as a Man…
I think you clearly see on which path we're all walking now... In a world eaten by chaos, our only way is Freedom... As hard as it can be, we can only choose ourselves and the values we feel are important to protect. We can not rely on anyone else, but we can decide to share; and we can decide to see the truth behind behaviours, postures and really feel why somehow, people lie and if it is a lie, a manipulation, and how it affects us, and how we can incorporate all of that to our own psychological scheme, and how to make this all work in our own reality, our own behaviour...
There's that quote I need to share in the light of today's show: "Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!".
Are you somewhere on a path you've never seen before? If that's the case, and if you're unsure, today's show will give you a few hints...
From Pavane for a Dead Princess to The Shadowy Light, every song, every moment of music lets the listener reflect on how Freedom presents itself to him as he walks through painful times. Every song presents what Freedom is, how we interact with it, how we restrain it and how we fight to find it and to keep it in our lives.
Of course, the second part of the show keeps that theme alive and well (Introverted Funk's Tell U) with that "grand opening" right at the end (Rodriguez Jr's What Is Real). Colleen's mixing is always precise, and it also lets you experience silence as a reminder that nothing that happens in life is important; the only thing keeping you from falling being the trust you keep on your path to freedom...
