In this new edition of our beloved show, Colleen meets two great DJs, Jimpster (head of Freerange Records) and Sarah Sweeney (co-founder of Eves Drop Collective). Sharing their latest musical endeavours, they also took some time to share their musical adventures and propose mixes that we all enjoyed to the max (Jimpster's mix was a modern, positive-oriented piece of music with an intriguing start, while Sarah's one was a high-energy musical trip, with a few cosmic outbursts, not forgetting some balearic flowering tracks and also including a few much-beloved classics)! Yesterday’s Balearic Breakfast is now up on my Mixcloud a day late as I was in transit via 3 flights to Henningsværfor Trevarefest. This episode of Balearic Breakfast features an interview with and an exclusive mix from Jimpster, a DJ, musician and label owner whom I have hugely admired for many years now. Jimpster, aka Jamie Odell, joined me to discuss his musical upbringing (his father was in Shakatak), his days with improv group The Bays and the story of the record label he co-founded with his friend Tom Roberts - Freerange which is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary. He’s also put together an exclusive mix that seamlessly mixes the more Balearic flavours of the label.
Also joining me is DJ Sarah Sweeney who is co-founder of Eves Drop Collective. She also plays at festivals like Wilderness (this weekend!), Big Love and of course We Out Here where she along with the mighty Eves Drop join me for my Cosmodelica takeover in our Love Dancin’ tent.
