This has been another tremendously busy year for our captain. After playing at the Golden Lion alongside Sarah Bates and Sorcha & Mike, in tribute to the late Danielle Moore, she took us on a new musical trip. This episode is another great example of how Colleen conducts her show: by playing songs that belong to each other while keeping an open mind, drifting easily from one genre to another! Of course, Sally's mix enhances Colleen's work on this episode, unified eclectism at its best! By the way, did you know that the great Lalo Schifrin was commissioned by William Friedkin to compose The Exorcist's soundtrack? History has it that when Friedkin heard Schifrin's body of work, he erupted and rejected the score. This was not the last time Schifrin's work was rejected; this happened another time when the great Polish director Andrzej Żuławski commissioned the composer for the 1981 movie, Possession.

This morning’s Balearic Breakfast is now up on my Mixcloud and features loads of new tunes along with a half hour Balearic mega-mix from Sally Rodgers @sallycalledadam from @amancalledadam_hq The mix tells the musical story of their classic 1991 single ‘Barefoot in the Head’ which recently had a recent reboot as Barefoot 26 with new mixes and interpretations. It’s a great story and Sally tells us all about it on today’s show.
